An Elden Ring player has discovered a hidden item in Stormhill four years after the game’s original release, highlighting how many secrets remain easy to miss across the Lands Between.

The player found a large statue and asked the community whether it served any purpose. Other users explained that the object cannot be destroyed directly by normal attacks.

To open it, players must lure a nearby giant troll into striking the statue. Once the structure breaks, a Smithing Stone can be collected from inside.

Smithing Stones are among the most useful materials in Elden Ring because they allow players to upgrade weapons and improve their combat effectiveness. They are especially valuable for newcomers struggling with difficult encounters.

The discovery may be familiar to experienced players, but Elden Ring continues to attract new audiences years after launch. Its open-world structure, optional exploration, cooperative support, Spirit Ashes, and frequent Sites of Grace make it one of FromSoftware’s more accessible releases.

Elden Ring is currently available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is scheduled for August 28, 2026.
